ARTS VISALIA May Exhibition

Joy Collier, California's Giant Sequoias, Found Nowhere Else on Earth

Arts Visalia presents an exhibition of "giganteum" proportions. The giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) is the world's largest tree. It grows naturally only in a narrow 160-mile band of mixed conifer forest on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California. In celebration of these very special trees, Joy Collier presents an all Sequoia Show featuring some of the most well known trees and groves in Yosemite and Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks, plus, a variety of well known National Forest Groves, such as the Trail of 100 Giants. Opening Reception: Friday, May 5, 6-8 p.m. Artist's Talk: Saturday, May 20, 2 p.m. Exhibit Runs: May 3-26, Wed.-Sat.. Noon to 5:30 p.m.
